Robert Morris University’s Festival of Five Freedoms

Where:             Robert Morris University—Moon Township, PA
What Time:       7:30 a.m. (registration opens) to 3:00 p.m. (finishing with the Liberty Tree planting ceremony)
Who:                Invitees include all regional high schools and interested high school students, as well as all interested RMU community members

The Festival will feature the following:

  • Interactive tables with contests, games and opportunities for engagement and prizes
  • Concurrent sessions featuring experts on journalism, religion, civics, law
  • A national keynote speaker, Mr. Ken Paulson
  • Student journalism contest awards

Interactive panels and presentations: The Festival will feature concurrent sessions led by experts in journalism, law, religion, and military defense. Each will offer interactive 45 minute sessions on topics  that directly address the First Amendment such as the tension between free speech and civil discourse in cases like the Westboro Baptist Church protests at military funerals.

Festival Tables: Games, trivia challenges, raffle tickets for First Amendment baskets, and many opportunities for participants to speak their minds or just learn more about the five freedoms can be found in the Sewall Arena in the opening hours of the Festival.
